Michelle S. Rutan, 48, of Sycamore died Saturday, June 17, 2017, in Ruby Memorial, Morgantown, W.Va.
She was born July 6, 1968, in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Glennetta Leasure Sapping and Vincent Sappington of Rogersville, who survives along with her step-mother, Ann Marie Stiles Sappington.
She attended West Greene and Central Greene schools.
On August 21, 1987, she married John H. Rutan Sr., who survives.
Mrs. Rutan worked for several Waynesburg businesses, including the South Side Deli, Golden Corral and Seven Eleven. She had also worked for Walmart in Washington.

She was born July 6, 1968, in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Glennetta Leasure Sapping and Vincent Sappington of Rogersville, who survives along with her step-mother, Ann Marie Stiles Sappington.
She attended West Greene and Central Greene schools.
On August 21, 1987, she married John H. Rutan Sr., who survives.
Mrs. Rutan worked for several Waynesburg businesses, including the South Side Deli, Golden Corral and Seven Eleven. She had also worked for Walmart in Washington.
She loved family cook-outs and fishing. She also enjoyed riding motor cycles and was a member of Alliance of Bikers Aimed Toward Education (A.B.A.T.E.) of Greene County.
Surviving, in addition to her parents and husband, are three sons, Eric Rutan (Felicia) of West Virginia, John H. Rutan Jr. (fiancée Ashley Hostettler) of Carmichaels and Travis Rutan of Sycamore; three brothers, Greg Miller (Carolyn Hayes) of Mannington, W.Va., Gary Sappington of Waynesburg and Doug Stiles of Waynesburg; two sisters, Stephanie Sonneborn Hill of Wind Ridge and Judy Clovis of Morgantown; several nieces including Misty Rutan; several nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews including Dakota and Tristin Tolley .
Deceased is a brother, Richard Miller.
Friends will be received 10 a.m. to 12 noon and 2 pm to 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2017 in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 W. High St., Waynesburg, followed by services at 4 p.m. with Rev.
